Ameri-Cana Expeditions
North American Hunting
Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer and Canada (Prairie) Moose

Hunt Trophy Whitetail, Trophy Mule Deer and Moose on the same hunt in the same area.

Hunt Mule Deer & Whitetail Deer

We have been guiding and outfitting here since 1981 in the SAME AREA and have secured the non-resident allocations in our WMU’S (wildlife Management units) for the future.  Here in Alberta non-resident allocations are issued to outfitters on a limited basis in each Wildlife Management Unit. We are pleased to say we have the majority of the allocations issued in the same area we have guided in since 1981. In our hunting area we hunt 5 WMU’s.  We produce trophy quality deer consistently for our clients at the Battle River Lodge which we own and operate ourselves personally.  When you book your hunt you are assured of a license and don’t have to apply for draws etc.

Moose Hunt

Hunting the Canada Moose in the Alberta Prairies is a very unique and rare opportunity because of the limited number of tags. Success has been 100% for many years and the population is now as strong as ever.  Ameri-Cana Expeditions has one tag available for each season at their own Battle River Lodge in east central Alberta. Hunt just the Moose or combine with our awesome Mule Deer and/or Whitetail.

All hunts take place in November with rifle.

Hunts Dates

Both Trophy Whitetail and Trophy Mule Deer are hunted during the “rut”. Alberta is one of the few places allowing Trophy Mule Deer hunting during the rut.  We offer one week hunts ( 5.5 days) for both species. Hunts are concluded Saturday at 1:00pm.

Hunting Conditions & Methods

November, with the rut is the best time to hunt deer in Alberta.  Do not concern yourself with the weather as the vehicles are never far away and with proper clothing and the excitement of the hunt you will enjoy the time outdoors, and the snow makes for great tracking.  A wide variety of methods are employed to successfully harvest your trophy, such as stands, still hunting, horn rattling, glassing over river valleys and wide open pastures and then making a stock on the trophy.  You will be kept busy hunting all day.

How to
Get Here

Edmonton is serviced by most major airlines.  You will be met in Edmonton for scheduled pickup.  Plan on arriving the Saturday before the hunt. You will require a hotel after your hunt and in most cases before your hunt as well.

*If you are not on schedule, you may be responsible for alternative travel arrangements.

We will pick you up in Edmonton on the Sunday before your hunt for a 2.5 hour drive to Battle River Lodge.  After your hunt you will be returned to Edmonton Saturday evening and can fly home Sunday morning.  If driving here you will be sent a map.  If you plan on flying up yourself, we have a 3000 ft. paved airstrip 15-min. from camp.  Air charter to and from camp is also available at your expense, directly through a charter company.

Care of Game

Our experienced guides will get your trophy ready for the taxidermist.  If you prefer, the meat can be taken to a local butcher shop for processing (at your expense). If animal is taken early enough in your hunt you can take home all of your processed meat with you. No meat will be shipped after the hunt is complete due to custom delays and spoilage. Capes will be frozen for you to take home with you.

Hunt
Location

As mentioned we will be hunting in the same area in Eastern Alberta that we have guided in since 1981.  Our area is renowned for consistently producing some of the largest trophies in Alberta.  The area is mostly privately held farm and ranch land, with river valleys, small wood lots, grain fields and large pastures, all providing excellent habitat for both Whitetails and Mule Deer and allowing outstanding hunting opportunities.  Battle River Lodge is located 2.5-hour drive south east of Edmonton.  Coronation, Alberta is the nearest town to the Lodge.

Import of
Fire Arms

You will have no problem bringing your sporting arms and ammunition into Canada (no pistols).  You will be sent an import form to be filled out and presented to customs at point of entry.  Recommended caliber is .270 and larger.  These deer are big - bodied animals, often weighing up to 300 lbs.  You will have no problems EXPORTING your trophies and meat at the time of your departure, if you desire.

Summary

As mentioned earlier we are hunting the same area since 1981 and constantly produce top trophies year after year.  Our area, staff, equipment, lodge and fine quality of trophy deer are second to none.  No other place in North America can offer the trophy quality of both Whitetail and Mule Deer in the same area and at the same time that Battle River Lodge can.

Come up and hunt with us. I am sure you will, as past hunters have done, return with other friends and family year after year.
