New Zealand is an island country of spectacular beauty and unique hospitality. The conveniences of modern life allow quick, easy access to the unspoiled, wild and remote countryside. New Zealand is in the southern hemisphere 1200 miles South East of Australia in the South West Pacific Ocean.
Our outfitter is from the North Island of New Zealand. Here he operates on private land which has been owned by his family for the past 5 generations. The property is 7000 acres of rolling to steep hills with the ultimate blend of open country and native New Zealand bush adding to the feeling of isolation and the unspoiled wilderness of the hunting area.
The North Island operation specializes in Red Stag, Sika, Arapawa sheep, Goats, Fallow and Boar and is based on the Wanganui River. All trophies taken on Wanganui Safaris will be taken free ranging and entered in the free section of the SCI record book.
South Island hunts for Chamois and Tahr are conducted on private land and utilize excellent farm stay accommodation.
Helicopter access to more remote areas is also available.
Accommodations are in a first rate lodge which has three double rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The lodge is very modern and the comfort is second to none. Because only one group at a time is booked, the lodge is exclusively for you and your party, whether it be family and/or friends during your stay.
All hunts start in Auckland which is serviced by an international airport. We will assist you in your flight plans if need be. Any internal flights within New Zealand are at your expense, but all other internal transport is included in the daily rate.
