North American Hunting
Alaskan Brown Bear

Cold Bay, is world renowned for consistently producing trophy class Brown Bear, and is actually one of the finest areas anywhere in Alaska to hunt Brown Bear.

The Alaska Peninsula encompass some of the most magnificent and remote wilderness in North America. Cold Bay is located in the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge at the western end of the Alaska Peninsula. It lies 634 miles southwest of Anchorage and 180 miles northeast of Unalaska. It has a maritime climate, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 60° F. Brown bears here have access to seasonally abundant spawning salmon. This coastal area also provides a rich array of vegetation they can use as food as well as a milder climate. This allows them to grow larger and live in higher densities than other bear in the northern and interior parts of the state.

Both Spring 16 day hunts and Fall 11 day hunts are available. Even numbered years’ hunts are in the spring and odd numbered years the hunts are in the fall.
